The “Flight of the Condor & Glacial Lake Humantay” program was designed with the nature lover in mind. It features easy to moderate walks combined with comfort and relaxation. Throughout the trip we’ll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery; In Chonta we’ll have a great view of the Limatambo Valley, we’ll be delighted by the flight of the condor over the Apurimac Canyon, and have an encounter with two of the most sacred mountains in the Andes, The Salkantay, and Humantay; we are also going to visit the glacial lake of Humantay, a truly stunning site. This trip will give us the opportunity to visit two archaeological sites visited mostly by scholars and those who seek a deep understanding of the Inca culture; Killarumiyoc, an important astronomical center where the lunar cycle was observed and fertility rituals honoring mother earth were performed; Tarawasi, an administrative location that displays a great structural design with trapezoidal niches and polygonal walls. Here we'll have a light lunch before walking to the condors' lookout point; most tourists don't arrive until later in the afternoon, which means, we'll be some of the first to arrive at the viewpoint. From Chonta we'll return to the main road to continue our trip to Pincopata EcoCamp where we will settle in our geodesic dome tents, take a nice hot shower and rest; getting a massage is also a good option.
